Bartering media content for free advertising air time:

The concept is to give away a syndicated TV series, like a free newspaper circular, with one's own, or one's strategic partners', commercials already inserted into it, again, much like a free newspaper circular does. Then TV stations across the nation and around the world are offered such programming for free, complete with blank spaces in it for them to insert edit in their own paying commercials. But they must be contractually forbidden from tampering with the show, or with our own pre-inserted commercials. A free TV show in exchange for a free commercial time whenever it runs.

Barter Syndication makes an excellent business model for yet to be established Media ventures. And, therefore, such distribution strategies as Barter Syndication also offer only one opportunity among many marketable and synergistic services to Media.

Syndication:

Distribution (on whatever terms) of a TV series, directly to each local TV station that airs it, independently rather than distribution via TV networks, to each of their affiliates.

Barter:

Direct exchange of goods and services, without money or any equivalent medium of exchange.

Companies like Hasbro have engaged in Barter Syndication:

Television programming is traded for commercial airtime.

For this purpose, a complete TV series must be either acquired, adapted as and if necessary, or entirely produced from scratch. It is then given away to local television broadcasters across the nation, and even Internationally. The programming typically includes advertisements, already edited in. And also blank spaces into which the broadcaster is permitted to insert their own promotions and paid advertisements. Otherwise, they may not tamper with it. This arrangement is described as Barter Syndication.

Perhaps only a small fee might be charged to defray the actual distribution expenses.

Multi Level/Network marketing distribution concept:

Another approach might be to charge full price, but then to discount the price, incrementally, all the way down to zero. Successive discounts would be earned by distribution of the TV shows to other TV stations, under the same terms. The TV shows, then, would be for free, but only with the provision of passing on the broadcast rights to X number of other TV stations, on the same terms, anywhere in the world. In this way, the TV shows will spread like an infection! The numerical value of X can be progressively reduced all the way down to zero, as the goal of estimated market saturation approaches.

And as well as garnering cost effective promotion for the strategic partners, we will also establish distribution channels for any franchisees electing to follow suite, with barter syndicated television programming of their own.

Need exiting new broadcast television shows for little capital expenditure? Or are you are seeking barter syndication outlet and exposure for quality media content? Aaron Agassi is available as a broker and consultant in finding and bringing together underexposed top quality content and broadcasters on a budget, for barter syndication and distribution. I'll do the leg work!

Really, all that I can offer is to undertake any portion of the legwork. But beyond just any one first assignment for you, in order to maximize benefit in the cultivation of contacts along the way, what I propose the longer and broader objective of building a business, a sort of brokerage, to continue bringing together content creators and local broadcasters in order to facilitate further barter syndications.

The niche for service to small players is marginal and difficult, but apparently unfilled. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity to cultivate a byproduct and grow your business into a new direction, all beginning from the quest for whatever your own needed connections, and thence to leverage from whatever media content or broadcast outlet (as the case may be), into the inception of a new brokerage meeting today's needs by bringing together independent broadcasters and content producers, and thus to offer the public something different.
